Introduction and Overview

The Department of Electrical Engineering at KFUEIT is one of the pioneer departments of the University, established in 2014. The department is committed to equipping students with strong technical knowledge, analytical and critical thinking abilities, and effective problem-solving skills. Our objective is to prepare engineering graduates who can demonstrate professional competence across diverse fields of engineering and contribute innovative solutions to the emerging challenges of society.

Scope and Associated Career

Electrical Engineering is one of the largest and most diverse technological and engineering disciplines in the modern world. It encompasses the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, with due consideration for safety, quality, economic feasibility, and sustainability.

Over the years, Electrical Engineering has played a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge technologies in areas such as power engineering, computer engineering, communications, mobile technologies, renewable energy, and industrial automation. Its impact extends beyond these domains, contributing significantly to emerging fields such as nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and biotechnology.

The discipline comprises several specialized subfields, including electronics, digital systems and computer engineering, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, radio-frequency (RF) engineering, signal processing, instrumentation, microelectronics, renewable energy systems, and industrial automation.

Electrical Engineering Laboratories at KFUEIT are equipped with most advanced equipment to facilitate students enhancing their understanding and skills. Qualified engineers supervise these laboratories, direct experiments and guide students.
