Introduction

The Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) is a cutting-edge academic department committed to advancing the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science through excellence in education, research, and innovation. Established in 2022, the department was founded with the vision of producing highly skilled professionals capable of addressing real-world challenges through advanced computing technologies. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal served as the founding Head of the Department (HoD) during Agust 2022, laying the academic and administrative foundation of the department. In May 2023, Dr. Badar ul Islam assumed the role of HoD and further strengthened the department by promoting quality education, research, and industry collaboration. Currently, Dr. Mujeeb Ur Rehman is serving as the Head of the Department, leading the department toward academic excellence, innovation, and impactful research. With a team of highly qualified faculty members and modern computing facilities, the department offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence, equipping students with strong analytical, programming, and problem-solving skills to excel in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

The department is committed to providing its students with a dynamic and engaging learning environment where they may explore the most recent developments in data science and AI, work with professionals in the area, and acquire hands-on experience through research projects and internships. Our research activities aim to advance the state-of-the-art in artificial intelligence and data science while also having an advantageous impact on society.

To develop skilled and knowledgeable professionals in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence to disseminate excellent education and transferable, career-oriented learning capabilities on a national and international level. To contribute towards advanced AI technologies that provide increased and better performance.to make a contribution to cutting-edge AI technologies that deliver higher and better outcomes to serve humanity.

Admission Criteria

  • The minimum requirements for admission in BS Computer Science, BS Data Science, BS Artificial Intelligence programs is at-least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination or equivalent examination certified by IBCC.
  • Sixteen years of schooling or a four years education after HSSC / A-Level in the related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 OR 60% marks (percentage will only be considered if CGPA is not mentioned on the transcript).
  • GAT (General) conducted by NTS/HEC test with accumulative test score of at least 50% or the departmental test with accumulative test score as per university policy.
  • The minimum requirement for admission to the BS Data Science, BS Artificial Intelligence and BS IOT program is at least 50% marks in the Intermediate, Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examination or equivalent examination certified by IBCC.
  • KFUEIT recognized/ valid aptitude test (KFAT/ NAT/ KFEAT/ ECAT/ MDCAT) or equivalent.
  • Any other requirement recommended by HEC or approved by the department.
