8th Meeting of KFUEIT Steering Committee

8th meeting of kfueit steering committee was held at kfueit which was chaired by mr. khusru bakhtiar member of national assembly. other members of the steering committee included: vice chancellor kfueit prof. dr engr athar mahboob, mian imtiaz ahmed mna, mr islam aslam mpa, mr saqrat aman rana deputy commissioner ryk while dr fazal ahmed khalid vice chancellotr uet lahore, mr ajmal bhatti addl. secretary hed, capt. (r) saqib zafar commissioner bwp, khurram jahanzeb chief operating officer (phed) joined the session via online video link. the session started with the recitation of the holy quran. afterwards, the vice chancellor kfueit put up the report on the current development of projects regarding construction. he added that the university is presently providing a complete university life to more than one thousand students in engineering, it and computer science departments. he also said that university has 69 faculty members out of which 45 are highly experienced phd faculty while more than 30 phd teachers (associate /assistant professors) will join the university from june and july 2017. all of them have been selected through the selection on merit. he further stated that horticulture department is actively working to make the university green. in this regard, four big grounds are fully prepared with green grass. besides, tree plantation derive is also on the move as a result of which thousands of plants have been planted with internal and external volunteers’ efforts. the chairman steering committee khusru bakhtiar expressed his pleasure over the rapid development of six academic blocks, students’ hostel, admin block, faculty residence and the boundary wall. he said that still more expedition is required to meet the required target by 30th of june 2017. he also added that issues regarding delay in the provision of funds to the university will be resolved at the earliest. this was further confirmed by addl. secretary hed mr ajmal bhatti. vice chancellor uet also said on this occasion that kfueit has made a wonderful success in hiring experienced phd faculty to provide quality of education but the university should also extend its cooperation in collaboration with other national and international institutions with a view to develop a research culture. on top of that, rahim yar khan is one of the remote areas due to which attractive salary package with special incentive may attract more experienced teachers. the commissioner saqib zafar said that without increasing labour in double shifts, meeting the target will be a dream. hence, the contractors should be put pressure to increase the numbers of labours working on site. the meeting was ended with a note to have on site visit of the university after two weeks.
