Dr. Usama Khalid is a seasoned academician with over a decade of experience at prestigious institutions. His academic journey includes contributions to the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China (ranked 47th globally by QS-2026, ranked 16th in Civil Engg by QS-2025) as Doctoral Scholar, the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan (ranked 371st globally by QS-2026) as Assistant Professor and HoD, COMSATS University, Pakistan (ranked 711-720 globally by QS-2025) as Lecturer, and the University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan (ranked 751-760 globally by QS- 2025) as MS student. Dr. Khalid has supervised numerous PG and UG students in their research work. His recent ongoing research is on the coupled impact of climate changes and seismic shaking on the strength and desiccation crack parameters of clays and the development of laboratory kneading compaction apparatuses for clayey soils as replacement of Proctor compaction apparatuses. He has coauthored over 40 research papers, which have garnered over 1100 Google Citations, an H-index of 19, an i10-index of 30, and a cumulative impact factor exceeding 160. His work has been published in several world-leading and high-impact journals. In recognition of his efforts in research, NUST honored him with the Best Researcher Award 2023. Throughout his career, Dr. Khalid has taught a variety of UG and PG courses. He has developed several postgraduate courses. Additionally, he regularly organizes special sessions and workshops for conferences and serves as an invited reviewer and guest editor for numerous renowned journals. Along with this, Dr. Khalid has also performed several institutional services as Head of the Geotechnical Engineering Department, Deputy Controller of Examination, Director of the Local Quality Enhancement Cell, and Academic Coordinator.
