Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed
Associate Professor (HOD)
PhD Civil Engineering The University of Tokyo, Japan.

  • Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed born and grow up in Bahawalpur, Punjab. He got his early education from Bahawalpur. For Engineering education, he graduated with honour from UET Lahore and joined UET as lecturer. Along with teaching he did his M.Sc. Civil engineering in Hydraulics and water Irrigation engineering. Right after completing master’s degree he won MEXT Japanese scholarship for PhD studies at the University of Tokyo Japan.
  • Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed has a vast experience of 16 years (Pre and post-graduation) while working/training in educational, government departments and with reputed consultant/contractor firms. He worked independently as well as a part of team on various academic, managerial and practical field related tasks and projects. His notable work is with IWMI (International water management institute), Joint venture of reputed consultants (NDC, NESPAK, JGC-Descon, Barqab, MMP) on a giant GTC project. In educational field he worked at UET as faculty member (Lecturer and Assistant Professor) for nine (09) years then as head of Civil engineering department at National University NU-FAST, Lahore and then at COMSATS Sahiwal, where he taught subjects in multiple departments, managed hostels (Including foreigner’s hostel), organized/developed laboratories, organized international seminar/workshops and started BS and MS Civil engineering programs along with other miscellaneous duties as a Convener/member of different bodies. Currently, He is working as Head of Civil engineering department at Khawaja Fareed university of engineering and Information technology, Rahim yar khan.
  • Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed has a keen interest in using the engineering software for simulating engineering phenomenon and searching the potential solutions of engineering problems. He used developed CADHS (computer aided design of hydraulic structures) as his BS project. He applied several design software like SEEP/W and SLOPE/W, GIS, QGIS, HEC-RAS, River2D, FLOW3D and several other software (including opensource software) in his Master and PhD thesis work. Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmed is keen of travelling across world, sightseeing, photography and skiing.
