Electrical Engineering Research Center (EERC)

Introduction

The Electrical Engineering Research Center (EERC) conducts research, development, and demonstration projects for the benefit of mankind. As an independent, nonprofit organization for public interest energy and environmental research, we focus on electricity generation, delivery, and use in collaboration with the electricity sector, its stakeholders and others to enhance the quality of life by making electric power safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible.

Objective

  • EERC emphasize power systems, with renewable energy and power electronics as other major areas of clean energy
  • Focus on social challenges including technologies needed for sustainability and reduced carbon emissions, technologies needed to support an increasingly stressed bulk power system
  • Purdue work focuses on wireless communication
  • Facilitate faculty members and students to conduct research
