Center of Mathematics KFUEIT

Introduction

Centre for Mathematical Research KFUEIT (RCPK) is a national institution, which promotes fundamental research in frontier disciplines of the mathematical sciences, initiated by Mathematics department, Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology Rahim yar Khan. This Centre will be established to enhance and promote research activities towards various unsolved problems, in the field of Mathematics, which also came across in various other fields of basic sciences and Engineering. This center will help to encompass research and training activities that are being conducted by members of the Department of Mathematics to promote research in Mathematics and its applied disciplines in the region.

The center will be dedicated to the advancement and communication of fundamental knowledge in Mathematics and its various fields like Algebra, Functional Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Fluid Mechanics, Differential Equations, and numerous other branches which serve as a building block of all engineering and science subjects. Based on these areas, the center will be a dynamic and collaborative unit that is currently comprised of three experimental and theoretical research groups.

Objective

Research Centre for Physics Kfueit (RCPK) aims to build on its world class research to provide the know-how and expertise in the advancement of technology at national and international level and will provide additional research facilities to the students from all over the country. This centre will strengthen the local industry through collaboration. The research centre will be expected to create a research and development culture in the KFUEIT by significant increase in applications of research outputs, publications in reputed national/ international journals and conferences, patents, innovations, commercialized products and MS & PhD enrolments.

Research Groups

1- KFUEIT Fixed Point Theory Research Group

Introduction

Fixed point results are generally used to find the solutions of integral, differential and partial differential equations representing different phenomena appearing in real life problems.

Objective

The purpose of our research group is to promote and advance the discovery, learning and Applications of Mathematics. The main goal to enlarge the scope of Fixed Point Theory in the different fields of life. To bring the original research sharing of knowledge, learning and application of Mathematics thereby providing a forum for active researchers. To unify and support KFUEIT mathematician through effective communication, sponsorship and partnerships with professional researchers. To Support mathematics research and collaboration with the research institutes and the users of Mathematics.

2- Finite element method in Mechanics

Introduction

The finite element method (FEM) is a numerical method for solving problems of engineering and mathematical physics. In mechanics there are several boundary value problems for which analytical solution is quite difficult to find, so need to be solved numerically and finite element method is one of the elegant way to do so.

Objective

Many Problems from engineering perspective and in heat transfer research have been solved in mechanics by this method and there are many unsolved problems in Mechanics, which need to be solved numerically. The aim of this group would be to try enhancing the research activities in mechanics using numerical techniques largely concentrating on FEM. Objective of this group is to promote the core area of mathematics i.e.; differential equations which come across in various engineering and physics problems. Our focus would be initially on some mechanics problems and then we would think to go further to gain some new results in the literature.

3- Algebra & its Applications Research Group

Introduction

The Algebra & its Applications Research Group at Department of Mathematics, Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan has been established to enhance the research activities. Mathematics is the logical and abstract study of pattern. It involves interplay between the concrete and the abstract: the ever-changing world around us is one of the key inspirations for the invention and investigation of abstract mathematics, and the discoveries of abstract mathematics have important and unexpected applications in the world around us. Research today is expanding the body of pure mathematical knowledge faster than ever before, with the creation of new mathematical structures and the discovery of connections between them providing deep insights into both abstract and physical worlds.

Objective

The Algebra & its Applications Research Group aims to interact with recent research and produce quality research work. Our objective is to engage faculty as well as students into research activities and create an active research environment. This group will provide an opportunity for research in the field of Algebra. Algebraic techniques are of central importance in modern mathematics. As such the Algebra & its Applications Research Group sits naturally among a number of major research topics in the department, with connections lattice theory, ring theory, gamma rings, lattice ordered rings.
