Admission Rules & Regulations

1.

General Instructions

  1. Designated Members of the University staff will be available for personal consultation during admission period.
  2. Try to submit the application along with the required documents as early as possible. Do not wait for the last date.
  3. As soon as the process of selection is completed, the merit list will be displayed showing the percentage aggregate marks of the applicants admitted in different disciplines against different categories.
  4. All documents to be attached with the application Form-I should be attested by a Class-I Gazette officer of the government or Class – A officer of the University.

Equivalent Examinations

The University recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

  1. Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.
  2. Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  3. British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  4. Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.
  5. American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.

 

The determination of equivalence and issuance of equivalent marks certificate up to HSSC level for certificates other than those issued by Pakistan's Boards is the jurisdiction of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) as per decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Such applicants are required to attach an equivalence certificate showing marks with the application for admission issued by the IBCC. The address of the IBCC is as follows: IBCC Regional Office at BISE Building, 86 Mozang Road, Lahore.

Eligibility for Admission

An applicant for admission to any of the Engineering Bachelor Degree Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. He should have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry & Math) /DAE/B.Sc. examination for all engineering programs and ICS (Physics, Mathematics & Computer) for Computer Engineering only, excluding sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks.
  2. He should have appeared in Engineering College Admission Test (ECAT/HAT conducted by UET Lahore)/KFUEIT Entry Test/HAT for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • For Computer Science & Information Technology Program:

An applicant for admission to CS or IT Bachelor Degree Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. He should have obtained at least 50% marks in F.Sc./ICS/DAE/B.Sc. examination excluding Hafiz-e-Quran marks.
  2. He should have obtained at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test (NAT)/KFUEIT Entry Test/HAT for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • For Admission in BBA Programs

An applicant for admission to BBA Bachelor Degree Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements

  1. Applicant should have at least second division in FA/F.Sc/I.Com/Equivalent examination excluding sports and Hafiz-e-Quran marks.
  2. He should have obtained at least 40% marks in National Aptitude Test (NAT)/KFUEIT Entry Test/HAT for that particular academic session (when conducted) in which he seeks admission.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • For Admission in BS Chemistry, BS Physics & BS Mathematics.

An applicant for admission to any of above mentioned Bachelor Degree Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements

BS Physics

  1. Applicant should have obtained at least 50% marks in Intermediate/equivalent with physics & mathematics examination excluding Hafiz-e-Quran Marks.
  2. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.

BS Chemistry

  1. Applicant should have obtained at least 50% marks in Intermediate/equivalent with Chemistry examination excluding Hafiz-e-Quran Marks.
  2. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.

BS Mathematics

  1. Applicant should have obtained at least 50% marks in Intermediate/equivalent with Mathematics examination excluding Hafiz-e-Quran Marks.
  2. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.

MSc Chemistry

B.Sc. with Chemistry, Botany, & Zoology

OR

B.Sc. with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/Statistics.

MSc Physics

B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics.

MSc Mathematics

B.Sc. with Mathematics A and Mathematics B.

MSc Computer Science

B.Sc. with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science.

Note: Candidates should have at least 45% marks in B.Sc. for admission in any
graduate program.

An applicant for admission to MBA Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements

  1. Applicant should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50/4.00 or second division in business relevant discipline (16 years of formal education.
  2. Applicant should have minimum score of 50% in GAT / HAT / GRE International / KFUEIT Test.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • For Admission in MBA Program (2.5 Years Program)

An applicant for admission to MBA Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements

  1. Applicant should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50/4.00 or second division in any discipline (16 years of formal education).
  2. Applicant should have minimum score of 50% in GAT / HAT / GRE International / KFUEIT Test.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • For Admission in MS Management

An applicant for admission to MS (Management) Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements

  1. Applicant should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50/4.00 or second division in business relevant discipline (16 years of formal education).
  2. Applicant should have minimum score of 50% in GAT / HAT / GRE International / KFUEIT Test.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • For Admission in MS Engineering Management

An applicant for admission to MS (Engineering Management) Program offered by the University must fulfill the following requirements

  1. Applicant should have obtained a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50/4.00 or second division in any Engineering discipline (16 years of formal education).
  2. Applicant should have minimum score of 50% in GAT / HAT / GRE International / KFUEIT Test.
  3. He should meet standards of physique and eye sight laid down in the medical Certificate.
    • Provisions about Admission Requirements/Eligibility Criteria (Undergraduate)

Given the qualifications and restrictions stated below, a person is eligible for admission to the Bachelor's degree courses at the University on the basis of a degree of Intermediate, subject to fulfilling of General Eligibility Criterion stated in Clause 3 and subject to the condition that he has passed F.Sc. Pre-Engineering or F.Sc. Pre-Medical examination.

For admission to the B.Sc. degree courses in Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology an applicant must have passed the B.Sc. examination with Physics and Mathematics.

For admission to the B.Sc. degree courses in Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology an applicant must have passed the B.Sc. examination with Physics and Mathematics.

  1. For admission against seats reserved for the holders of Diploma of Associate Engineer, the candidate should have passed diploma examination of a Board of Technical Education in the relevant technology
  2. Applicants seeking admission against seats reserved for the holders of Diploma of Associate Engineer shall not be eligible unless their diplomas are in the relevant technology as specified against each degree course given below:

B.Sc. Electrical Engineering

B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering

B.Sc. Computer Engineering

B.Sc. Civil Engineering

Note: A candidate having diploma in any other technology shall not be eligible for admission.
