Basic Sciences are the inevitable route for new and novel invention in the world of ours. Humanities familiarize graduates with human culture & moral values. The department of Basic Sciences & Humanities was established in 2015 at Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology, with a view to ensure professionally creative education for aspiring students in the fields of Basic Sciences & Humanities.
The department provides comprehensive knowledge of Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Pakistan studies and Religious Studies to the students in the University.
The department offers 2-years M.Sc. program (semester system) in three disciplines: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. These subjects have unique versatility and fascination. Moreover, the subjects have strong links with all fields of sciences. Each master’s program is divided into four semesters. The graduates of the department are trained to face challenges at national and international levels.
The Department owns well equipped Chemistry and Physics laboratories with all facilities to equip students with relevant skills required to excel in respective fields.
In addition to practical sessions and research work conducted by Physics and Chemistry laboratories, the laboratories also provide technical support to the other departments in the University.

The department has highly qualified, supportive and co-operative faculty with diversified research interests and innovative ways of teaching. Courses are delivered by the variety of teaching methods and assessment styles such as interactive lectures, practical work in laboratories, workshops, small group tutorials, problem solving classes, revision sessions and e-learning. Examination are held two times in a semester. The students are also examined orally.
